The first Ave Maria Fall Festival is from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
Ave Maria residents and visitors may enjoy a variety of seasonal activities throughout the town and at La Piazza, the town center.
At the Children’s Pumpkin Patch, youngsters may pick their own pumpkins. They also may have their faces painted, enter number-guessing contests, meet clowns and marvel at the skills of stilt walkers and balloon artists. Adults will be entertained by the sounds of the Traditional Heidelberg Polka Band.
Refreshments will be available throughout the town for a fee, and will include popcorn, cotton candy, ice cream, pretzels, hot dogs, bratwurst, lemonade and apple cider. Complimentary bottled water also will be available.
Attending the festival is free.
Because of the Fall Festival’s proximity to Halloween, there will be a Halloween crafts area. Costumes are encouraged, and prizes will be awarded. Around La Piazza, retailers of Ave Maria will offer giveaways.
Throughout the festival, Ave Maria University students will offer guided tours, giving interested visitors a first look into the school’s campus, which officially opened in August.
