Her sister, Amanda, said the ride was at its highest point when Cecilia’s harness came up and she fell to the ground..

“It scared me because she didn’t scream, all she did was grabbed my foot when she started to fall,” said Amanda Amador, 20, who was on the ride next to her.

Cecilia Amador was initially unconscious after hitting the ground.

The Florida Department of Consumer Services is investigating today, according to Michelle Batten, a spokeswoman for the Collier County Sheriff’s Office.

The Avalanche is a spinning ride which holds 24 riders and reaches speeds of 20 revolutions per minute. The ride reaches heights of 29 feet.

Amanda Amador said her, her sister, her husband and a friend had been on the ride for about a minute when the accident occurred.

“We have been on this ride before and it didn’t feel right,” Amanda Amador said. “My legs kept sliding into my sisters. It was like being in a washing machine. It was like we were being jarred.”
