Electrical explosion at Immokalee school sends man to hospital

Routine electrical work sent a Collier School District electrician to the hospital earlier today, after a small explosion at Eden Park Elementary in Immokalee.
According to Schools district spokeswoman Leanne Zinser, the man suffered superficial burns due to the explosion/ breakers’ flash.
Zinser said the man was transported to an area hospital and that he had not been released.
"They are keeping him overnight as a precaution," said Zinser.
Immokalee Fire District officials confirmed that the man had been flown to Lee Memorial Hospital and that he was in stable condition.
No additional information on the man was available.
