Vanderbilt Beach, East Naples and Estates may end up being open mon-thu

Libraries may cut hours, days

NAPLES: It may soon be tougher for families in Collier County to visit their local library.

Under a new plan, five of the county’s 10 libraries would cut hours, and three of them would also reduce service from five days to four.

That means you would only be able to use the Vanderbilt Beach, East Naples and Estates branches Monday through Thursday.

The county says it's simply a cost-cutting measure.

The cut back in hours would take effect May 1st.

Commissioners will vote on the plan Tuesday.
