MARCO ISLAND, Fla. - Human remains were found in Marco Island Saturday afternoon. They were found just north of the Goodland Bridge.
A fisherman found the remains in mangroves. The body was badly decomposed and only partial remains were found, so investigators could not identify the person. An autopsy will be performed.
People who live near the site said the crime scene was very interesting and out of the usual.
The Collier County Sheriff's Office is asking anyone who may know something, to call (239) 252-9300.

COLLIER COUNTY: Collier County Sheriff's deputies are conducting a death investigation after fishermen found human remains in Goodland.
On Saturday deputies responded to S.R. 92, just north of the Goodland bridge at 2:00 p.m. after fishermen reported finding what appeared to be human remains in the mangroves.
Investigators say they found partial human remains and were not able to identify the body due to its condition.
Deputies say they can't identify the body because of its condition. A medical examiner is conducting an autopsy.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Collier County Sheriff's Office at 252-9300, or if you wish to remain anonymous call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477).
