Everyone has experienced a mild neck pain at some point in life.

The most common reason behind this back pain is a bad posture while sleeping or strenuous work in office. This neck pain can be caused due to abnormalities in the soft tissue and prolonged use and wear. Certain infections and tumors can also be a reason for it.
Measures that can help you prevent the neck pain:
•Do not sit for prolonged periods in one position. Remember to change the position and relax your shoulders.
•Work by taking interval which will enable you to relax your muscles, and also do a few neck-strengthening exercises.
•Take a break after every two hours to relax and exercise.
•Do not slouch and evade the head forward posture. When you are sitting in the chair make sure that your lower back has some support and that your feet are flat on the floor.
•Make sure that your computer screen is at eye level. This helps in preventing pain that is linked with long term computer use.
•Do not cradle the phone between your shoulder and neck; instead use a headset or the speakerphone.
•Make sure that while driving, the seat of your car should be in an upright position, your head and lower back should always be supported.
•Use adjustable chairs so that you can adjust the height as per your requirements. Also try adjusting the chair to different positions according to your comfort.
•While you are typing you knees, hips and elbow need to be at a 90- degree angle. Your elbows should remain close to your body. By following this posture you can not only prevent neck pain but also prevent problems related to back pain.
•Do not keep your laptop on your lap and look down at it. This puts stress on your neck and spine. Hence keeping the gadget at eye level can help in reducing the strain on your neck.
