Is technology making us stupid?

Register with us in one easy step!

I’m no stranger to modern technology; I love my smart phone and enjoy using the latest computers (despite knowing very little about them). I love the idea of what’s to come too – I mean, think about how far the world has come since the 50s, when the telephone (the wired kind) was the main source of communication! It’s mad, but it’s also quite frightening.

Look at Hard Disk Recovery London now - we have something to do everything for us. If we’re too fat, we have a machine to do our breathing for us, if we can’t be bothered to walk a few hundred yards, we can jump in the car. Can’t be bothered to walk to the shop? No problem because we can order our shopping over the internet…via our phones!

I know everyone thinks that we’re getting smarter by the year because we can create these amazing things, but I can’t help but wonder if the reason we’re creating these things is because we’re getting stupider. We can’t seem to use any of our natural instincts anymore, we just create gadgets to do our bidding for us. Look at animals, the way they survive hasn’t changed for thousands of years and yet we’re constantly having to adapt because we’re never content with what we have.

Take computers as a prime example. We’re always so keen to have the latest design because it’s new. But half of us don’t know how to use them properly and end up calling for data recovery when we can’t figure out where our work has disappeared to.

Don’t get me wrong, I love my phone and my Raid Recovery London because I can be entertained so easily and get my work done so much faster, but I’m constantly worrying that in a couple hundred years or so, are we going to be completely reliant on technology? Will our brains become obsolete?

For now, I’m going to keep reading books and doing crossword puzzles.
