Western Power Distribution is a provider of services to over 7.8 million customers spread over 55,000 square kilometres through 221,000 kilometres of overhead lines and underground cables. Northern Powergrid reported that 61,000 customers had faced disruption and had been brought back to service by Thursday. Northern Powergrid reported wind speeds of 60 and 70 miles per hour in the northeast and Yorkshire.The company serves these two areas and northern Lincolnshire. Its network covers 25,000 square kilometres from the East Coast to the Pennines. It traverses the area with 93,000 kilometres of lines and cables, reaching out with 3.9 million connections. SSE also serves the cities of Bounemouth, Oxford, Portsmouth, Reading, Southampton, Slough, Swindon and parts of West London. Another network serves about 740,000 customers in Scotland.
