Chain link fencing and gates are made from individual wires that are galvanized. The fencing and gates made of this material are used in many residential and commercial applications. The taller the wiring is the harder it is for someone, or something, to climb over it, jump over it, or throws something over it. When the materials are used around prisons and detainment centers the application of razor wire above the chain link mesh is used to further discourage the inmates from attempting to break out by climbing the fence.
