livinginnaples.com is an amazingly well done website for Naples, FL businesses to network, advertise, check out local events and more!

I've quite impressed with livinginnaples.com ( Living in Naples - great name for the website!) - within minutes of signing up, I was putting up a blog:

Some of the great options you get on livinginnaples.com are:


-  Your Profile
Here you can modify your profile, including adding a link to your business webpage, adding a picture and other good social networking details.


-  Write a blog entry
This is really neat. Just like on naplesplus, you can easily add your own blog entry. There are some formatting issues at the moment (April 22, 2008) but I'm sure they'll fix them soon.


-  Add Business
Fantastic business directory! While naplesplus's business directory is kinda google-ish in a random way (making it easy to find through Google but harder to find through navigation), livinginnaples has their business directory nicely categorized and organized with plenty of categories to go around. Plus it's free to add a listing.


-  Show your blog
Here you get to see your blog as others see it. A nice option, by the way, of their blog feature is that you can set it so that EVERYBODY can see it (including Google I hope!), only the people on the site can see it, or nobody but you can see it, giving you the ability to have either a business promotion tool (search engine friendly, like naplesplus is), a social networking tool (which naplesplus isn't, but should be!), or as a note-taking utility).


-  Submit News
I get a kick out of the submit news. It's just like the blogging utility but instead of appearing just on your personal page, it ALSO shows up on the "News" section of the website, and when you first post it, it shows up on the UPPER RIGHT HAND CORNER of the FRONT PAGE of the site! Nice, nice free news service.


-  Add Event
If your business is doing something for the community at a particular time, this is a good place to put it. Now with this events feature, I'm officially jealous. I never was able to get a decent events calendar here on Naplesplus, and it is something WOEFULLY NEEDED online someplace - an all purpose events feature for Collier County. I expect to make good use of it - and if it is RSS-able, you'll see it here too.

All in all, these are excellent features that you yourself can control on the website.

I truly believe that lots of user control is a fantastic feature on any website. I hope we at naplesplus are providing it for you, and I am glad to see that livinginnaples is doing it even BETTER! --Ken
