Speakers Series at the Naples Preserve located at 1690 Tamiami Trail at the corner of Fleischmann Blvd and US 41.

Naples Backyard History is holding its Speakers Series at the Naples Preserve located at 1690 Tamiami Trail at the corner of Fleischmann Blvd and US 41. The NBYH Speaker’s Series, featuring Old Timers and historical experts, will be the first Friday of every month beginning February 2009 from 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. For reservations call 213-7120. Seating is limited.

The 2009 Series is as follows:

February 6: Harry Bickford; Life on the Working Waterfront. He grew up living on the Naples Dock. His model boats replicating the boats that worked the waterfront will be on display at The Cove Inn Feb 7-8.

March 6: Sam Colding, former Property Appraiser for over 30 years in Collier County will speak on his experience and The History of Property Values in Naples.

April 3: Chris Pettit, Ph.D., Naples Pier expert and Native Floridian will talk on growing up barefoot and wild with his friends – marine life. He will talk on his Love of Nature and Animals- Naples Best Assets.

May 1: Jean Walker Humphries, the niece of Lorenzo Walker will talk on the Walker Family Legacy and how her uncle’s love for his brother, her father’s started the technical schools in Naples.
