Success @ its Grand Expansion!
The Seminole Casino Immoklaee showed off its new look on Thursday. The $22-million expansion hosts a bigger players club with new games, blackjack and over 1,000 slot machines. There is also a live entertainment lounge and two restaurants.
The casino has doubled in space and has many feeling lucky.
550 people now have a new job here. Like Sharon Polce, a former laid-off real estate para-legal turned cashier, "it keeps me doing the two things I love most being around people and working with money."
Long time slot player Dennis Lapont plans to come back, "it is just beautiful here, they did a nice job."
As the casino celebrates it improvements so does the City of Immokalee. Local businesses hope to cash in on new customers. "It is going to give us more business now with more people coming," says Maria Perez of La Taquito Restaurant.
Thousands packed the casino for opening day. It doesn't appear the expansion was a big gamble.
The Seminole's would like to add a new hotel and golf course in the next three years.
