Former cop faces child sex charges
Kenneth Bennett is charged with eight counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor, two counts of official misconduct and three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement began looking into Bennett in November after Arcadia police had finished their own internal investigation into his behavior.
FDLE says their investigation showed Bennett had sex with minors, gave drugs and alcohol to minors and altered police department documents about four years ago.
The sexual encounters allegedly occurred with teenage boys in Fort Myers and Naples.
Bennett is being held in the Indian River County Jail.
