THE VAUDEVILLIAN

A short Film by Yash Bhatt 16 m

Enter the carnevalesque world of the vaudeville show in dreamy sequences that capture the story of a ventriloquist’s journey and his relationship with his dummy. After they lose their job at a vaudeville act, their relationship is strained as they struggle during the Great Depression of 1930.

Showcased at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, Santa Fe Film Festival and New Orleans Film Fesitval as well as the Kodak Showcase at Clermon-Ferrand International (France), this is a rare opportunity for a private viewing of this extraordinary film.

Kodak Award-winner Yash Bhatt preserves the beauty of a lost art form on 16mm film. The now discontinued 16mm stock was used to shoot this award-winning film reflecting the beauty of the time period. This was the ultimate best medium to capture the details of the texture and tones of the times.
