Artist Arthur Morehead to do Faux Finishing Seminar at International Design Center in Estero Fl

Because we had such a great turnout at our last seminar with a full capacity crowd on August 8th The International Design Center has scheduled us for a larger room for our next demonstration which will be a basic trompe loeil technique which comes from the french term meaning "to fool or trick" the eye into believing that something is real when in reality it is just an illusion of light and shadow created with the use of paint and some basic rules of color theory Decorative art or "faux painting" as most people have come to known it as, goes far beyond than what most people realize. The art of decoration goes back hundreds and even thousands of years and comes in many different styles and forms which is what theses seminars are based on and to bring awareness to the public of the many talented artisans that reside in our area and practice this love of art.

Arthur has been in the painting business for over 30 years and is now ready to step into a whole new level of decorative art and will begin teaching and educating anyone who is interested in learning this life long ambition that never seems to end. With a new studio scheduled to open in January 2010 Arthur has invited the very artists that he himself has learned from many of his techniques with the first being renown master Sean Crosby who will be teaching a 3 day mural workshop back to back with a 2 day marble and woodgraining class the second week of November.
