The second annual “GREEN FLASH” Sunset Celebration will raise funds to build a new boardwalk through the mangroves of Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park to Little Turkey Bay.
The Friends of Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park will host the second annual “GREEN FLASH” Sunset Celebration on Saturday, November 5, 2011. The event will begin at 6:00 p.m. at Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park (Area 5) located at 11135 Gulf Shore Drive in Naples.
Attendees will enjoy sunset cocktails and appetizers on the beach including a souvenir “GREEN FLASH” glow glass. The evening will continue with tropical music, silent auction, a sunset photography demonstration and featured artwork by resident artists. Festivities include a fully catered dinner, a beach bonfire and a chance to see the elusive phenomenon known as the famous GREEN FLASH!
Funds raised will be used for upgrades in the Park including a new Boardwalk to be built through the mangroves to Little Turkey Bay. This will provide access to the largest undisturbed areas of the Park and allow guests to experience various eco-systems through the mangroves to the Estuary.
The Friends of Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park is funded solely by public contributions and does not receive federal grants. Your support as a partner in this event will help ensure that all proceeds raised during the Green Flash event will go directly to the positive upgrades and improvements to Collier County’s treasured beachfront park.
Sponsorship opportunities are still available; please call Natasha Alveshire of Fleur de Lis Event Designs at (239) 390-0770, or email natasha@fleurdeliseventdesigns.com to inquire. Sponsors for 2011 now include: Scott Lowery Landscape, Inc., Brooks Insurance Company, Emmanuel Lutheran Church, E. Sue Huff & Associates, Inc., and Fleur de Lis Event Designs.
