Vicki Tracy and Sharon R. Treiser have been selected as the 2012 Honorary Chairs, spearheading the efforts of committee members and sponsors to make the May 5th event a success.

People say when you want something done, ask the busiest person you know and it will happen. The Friends of Foster Children (FFC) have taken this to an entirely new level by asking two of the busiest women in Collier County.

Vicki Tracy, Director of The Arlington and Sharon R. Treiser, Vice President/Senior Relationship Manager of PNC Wealth Management, have been named the 2012 Honorary Chairs for the 5th annual Boots and Boogie Bash being held at Grey Oaks Country Club on Saturday May 5, 2012.

“There are exceptional people in Collier County who open their homes and hearts to take in foster children. I consider them all angels,” says Tracy. “I think our town needs to support the Friends of Foster Children and their endeavors so we can continue to provide safe havens and programs for our littlest ones who need us most. By supporting the FFC upcoming event, people can help change the COURSE of a child’s life and, in many cases, the LIFE of the child itself.”

With the help of the honorary chairs, committee members, donors and sponsors, critical funds will be raised to enable the FFC to improve the lives of more than 800 Collier County children who are removed from abusive and neglectful homes each year.

“I have been blessed in my life to come from a very loving and supportive family. I have also been able to provide a similar home for my two sons,” says Treiser. “It’s devastating to think that any child would be placed in danger by circumstances that they had nothing to do with, and of which, they are completely innocent. By becoming involved with the Friends of Foster Children, I hope that I can help increase our community's awareness of the need to protect and support these children and to show them that they are not alone. If we can support these children by spreading the awareness of Friends of Foster Children’s work, then I will have begun to do my part.”

The western theme evening will include dancing, silent and live auctions, a live band, great food and drinks and a whole lot more. For more information on how to be involved or attend, contact Jennifer Weidenbruch at Jennifer@friendsoffosterchildren.net or (239) 262–1808. The FFC is a registered 501 (c) 3. All donations to FFC are tax-exempt. Learn more about the organization that is helping Collier County’s most defenseless children, one child at a time.
