The Italian Open Golf Tournament raised enough funds at their event to grant the wish of one local child.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Southern Florida was the recipient of funds raised at a local golf tournament held at Shadow Wood Country Club on April 16, 2012. The event named the Italian Open Golf Tournament had over 120 people in attendance.
The day included golf, an awards dinner and live auction. Over $6,900 was raised with 100% of the net proceeds benefitting Make-A-Wish.
Lesley Colantonio, Senior Special Events Coordinator for Make-A-Wish - West Coast Office, received the check from Angelo Daberio and Ron Repice, the tournament organizers. “With the average cost of a wish being $5,000, this event donated enough to grant one deserving child’s wish! It’s wonderful that there are local groups that take it upon themselves to hold events in order to make wishes come true for local children,” said Colantonio. “We appreciate Shadow Wood Country Club and all the players for making this event a success.”
The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southern Florida grants wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy.
