Football in the UK & Ireland has a strong tradition, if not always a successful one,

June 06, 2013 - Football in the UK & Ireland has a strong tradition, if not always a successful one, in the release of both official and unofficial supporters songs. England’s Three Lions, Vindaloo and in 1970, Back Home and Scotland’s Ally’s Army are all part of a rich tradition. Rugby Union on the other hand has no such track record in spite of a tradition that includes bawdy songs and male voice choirs.

That is about to change thanks to the release of The Voice of a thousand men by RUCK STARS. The song was released on 27 May to coincide with the British and Irish Lions tour to Australia that starts on June 6 following a warm up game against The Barbarians in Hong Kong this Saturday May 1.

Proceeds from the track go to Rugby Children’s charity The wooden Spoon.

Neil Boote MD of Rugby Inspired clothing brand Ruckstar, who produced the record explains “The record is a plea to the traveling fans to take the voices of those at home with them. Its about time the British & Irish Lions and Rugby in general had a tailor-made Rugby anthem to sing along to”
