According to a study, children who are overweight or obese are more feasible to evolve asthma compared with children of a healthy weight.

August 17th, 2013 (http://www.kamagrarx.co) - According to a study, children who are overweight or obese are more feasible to evolve asthma compared with children of a healthy weight. The study deliberated records of 623,358 children amidst the ages of 6 and 19. The children were separated into four groups based on their measured height and weight.

These were:

•Normal weight •Overweight •Moderately obese •Extremely obese

All children were observed over the course of 1 year in order to analyze the prevalence of asthma. The outcomes of the study revealed that children who were overweight were 1.16 times more plausible to develop asthma compared with children who were of a normal weight. Sparingly obese children were 1.23 times more likely to evolve the condition, while highly obese children were 1.37 times more at danger.

Of the children who developed asthma, it was discovered that moderately obese and highly obese children were more plausible to develop regular and offensive forms of asthma compared with children of normal weight, resulting in hospital visits and treatment with oral corticosteroids which is medication used to decrease inflammation and swelling in the airways.

The research also revealed that the effects of body weight and asthma varied depending on race/ethnicity, sex and age. Moderately obese girls between the ages of 6 and 10 had a 1.36 times higher danger of asthma than girls of normal weight, the same age, while highly obese girls had a 1.56 times higher danger.

It is the most general chronic condition amongst children. The researchers say that although other studies have recognized a link between childhood obesity and asthma, there have not been much large-scale studies. Therefore, the researchers plan to carry on their ongoing work to better understand how body weight and body mass index in childhood can raise asthma risk.
