Mild heart disease is caused on account of fat depositions in the arteries.
13th January 2014, (http://www.kamagrarx.co/) : Initially it was believed that women who have mild heart disease are at greater risk of dying from heart attack than men who are affected by the same condition. However, a new research suggests that this risk is same for both men and women especially in short term.
For the research the data of international study registry was used. The data was about 28,000 people who belonged to 6 different countries. They were administered scanning techniques to take images of their hearts. Researchers found that more than 18,000 people had arteries which were less than 50% blocked. However, they didn’t show any sign of mild heart disease. Their scans were also normal.
These patients included about 8,800 women and 9,300 men. Records of them were matched and compared with those of 11,000 similar patients. It was found that men and women have same risk of heart attack and death from mild heart disease. 250 of those 18,000 patients actually suffered or died from heart attack within 2 years of follow up period.
Mild heart disease is caused on account of fat depositions in the arteries. This plaque makes arteries narrower and harder. As a result, they are unable to supply oxygen rich blood to heart. It increases the risk of heart attack. Even if arteries are not narrowed, coronary artery disease increases the risk of heart attack in both men and women and it can be fatal or non fatal.
Building up of plaque in arteries is detected by CT scan. If reports are normal, risk of heart attack for next 2-3 years is reduced for both men and women. Cardiovascular diseases are a leading cause of death nowadays and its risk can be mapped through CT scans.
According to researchers, there are seven major factors responsible for heart diseases. They include smoking, high blood pressure, diabetes and high cholesterol. Thus it is necessary to bring about lifestyle changes.
Till the study is published in some peer reviewed journal, the data and findings should be considered as preliminary.
