Drinking fruit juices or eating citrus fruits like oranges are very useful for the eyesight.

2. Placing cucumbers and green tea bags on the eyelids can be very effective. They are useful to prevent water retention and also treat dermatitis and inflammation.

3. An individual should avoid wearing contact lens for long period of time, as it causes discomfort and permanent sight damage to the eyes. It can be dangerous for the eyes if a person wears contact lens for more than 19 hours. It is also important that a person avoids exposing his eyes directly to the sunlight or else he can use UV protected sunglasses.

4. To have a better eye sight, an individual should try to spend less time looking at computer screen. If any person is working on computer, or watching the screen of mobiles or TV; then he must try to blink in every 30-60 seconds to avoid giving stress on eyes.

5. To protect the eyes, an individual should avoid reading in the dim light and must do exercise of eyes every day.

6. Oily fishes like tuna and salmon, and some food products such as beans, nuts and eggs are vital for the eyes.

7. A person should quit smoking because it can cause damage of optic nerve. Maintaining weight can help to stay eyes fit.
