Votrient (pazopanib) is a cancer medication that interferes with the growth of cancer cells and slows their spread in the body. Votrient is used to treat advanced renal cell carcinoma (kidney cancer).

Action:
Votrient belongs to a class of medicines called protein kinase inhibitors. It is used to treat advanced cancers of the kidney or certain forms of soft tissue sarcoma that affects the supportive tissues of the body. This drug works by preventing the actions of proteins that are involved in the expansion and spread of cancer cells.
Dosage:
The recommended starting dose is 800 mg orally once daily without food (at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal). The dose of VOTRIENT should not exceed 800 mg.
Precautions:
Before you take this drug your doctor needs to know: if you have heart disease if you had heart failure or a heart attack if you have had prior blood clots in the vein or in a lung if you have had prior collapse of a lung if you have high blood pressure if you have liver disease if you have had problems with bleeding, blood clots or narrowing of the arteries if you have had stomach or bowel problems such as perforation (hole) or fistula (abnormal passages or tunnels leading out of the gut). if you have thyroid problems if you are going to have a surgical or dental procedure, or if you have had either recently.
Drug interactions:
This drug may interact with other drugs that can cause bleeding/bruising such as antiplatelet drugs, NSAIDs, aspirin, or blood thinners. It can also interact with azole antifungals, antidepressants, antibiotics, rifamycins.
Side effects:
Stop using this product if you have a serious side effect such as: • slow healing of a wound or surgical incision; • vertigo, fainting, fast or pounding heartbeat; • black, bloody, or tarry stools; • coughing up blood or vomit that looks like coffee grounds; • nausea, stomach pain, low fever, loss of appetite, dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice .
Storage:
Store at room temperature between 15 to 300c . Protect from heat, light and moisture. Keep away from reach of children.
