Miami, FL, November 01, 2014 /PressReleasePing/ - 18 year old Max Holm, who was raised in Stockholm, Sweden, is the only hiigh school student in the US to receive the prestigious award from the Jazz Education Network (JEN). The award recognizes an outstanding high school jazz student who has a strong resume and is supported with exemplary recommendations from professionals in the field.

The Park City, Utah resident is a member of Caleb Chapman's Crescent Super Band, having recently moved from South Florida, where he was a member of another well-known high school band, The Dillard Center for the Arts Jazz Ensemble. Max received the Outstanding Piano Solo Award in 2014 from Wynton Marsalis at the Essentially Ellington Competition at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City. Max was also the only pianist in the country chosen to be a member of the Jazz Band of America, performing in Indianapolis at the Music for All Festival.

Max has attended several prestigious jazz camps, including Brubeck Summer Jazz Colony, Stanford Jazz Institute, Centrum, Juilliard/New York Jazz Symposium, University of Miami Honors Jazz Camp, Litchfield and Michigan State. Max performed, studied and taken master classes with many jazz greats, including Wynton Marsalis and Kirk Whalum, among many others. See MaxHolm.com for more information.

As a member of the Crescent Super Band, Max will travel to Havana, Cuba in March to open the Fiesta del Tambor. At the JEN conference in January, Max and the band will perform with famed Latin Jazz musician, Poncho Sanchez,

Max is a high school senior and is applying to The Juilliard School, Berklee College of Music, Manhattan School of Music, Oberlin College and The Brubeck Institute.
