1888 Press Release - David Di Paolo, in his new book, The Artemis Connection, craftily combines folklore from many nations and medicine into an engaging medical thriller featuring custom artwork.
Tyler, Texas - Incorporating medical mysteries while crossing cultural boundaries as an author can be a challenging endeavor, something that many don't attempt until they have written several novels. For first-time author David Di Paolo, combining Native American, Greek, Italian and other folklore with his love for medicine was a natural development in his suspense-filled book The Artemis Connection.
Focused on the main character, Diana Velleverde, a brain researcher who becomes obsessed with a family heirloom that leads her to questions about her family and her own recently acquired medical condition, this novel was inspired by Di Paolo's experience as a physician.
"Taking a broad look at the stories from folklore was the basis of my novel," said Di Paolo. "Combining that with my love of medicine and a good deal of suspense is what makes The Artemis Connection the story that it is." The result is a book that crosses cultural boundaries in presenting the plot - one filled with twists and references to a great deal of different stories from different ethnicities - as well as mentions of cutting-edge medical technology.
"Love, loss and a life searching for meaning and helping others are all goals that we share no matter where we live or how we have been raised. I think the challenges presented in The Artemis Connection demonstrate that," said Di Paolo.
This engaging book is filled with amazing artwork specifically designed for it by Diane Ditzler Frossard, and readers will love how the depth of the art contributes to the way that the story was crafted. Ideal for everyone from individual readers looking to try a new genre to book clubs looking for a combination of suspense and folklore, The Artemis Connection will be a book that readers will come back to again and again. Currently available, the book can be purchased in both e-reader and hard copy formats from SDP Publishing, Amazon and Barnes and Noble.
