Masterfully crafted by Tiffany Golden, 'Midnight and the Man Who Had No Tears' is the first volume in a compelling new series that teaches children the importance of love, family, embracing their best self and understanding that nobody deserves to suffer in silence.
Oakland, CA, December 26, 2014 /PressReleasePing/ - There's no way to sugarcoat it; the narrative of modern life forces millions of children to see shame in their trauma, suffer in silence and ultimately deny themselves the healing they deserve. But one Californian writer is out on a mission to re-write society's rulebook, with a powerful new children's series that deals with full humanity and empowers youngsters to reach out for support and embrace healing.
'Midnight and the Man Who Had No Tears' holistically tackles issues of love, family and self-esteem; all wrapped up in a fantasy/folklore adventure that will spellbind any middle reader and their family.
Synopsis: In the magical land of Shina, Midnight is the Keeper of Dreams and Protector of Children. Tonight, on her nightly journey down the River of Dreams, she meets the Red family, whose child is joining Midnight for the first time. The dark cloud of sadness that consumes their house concerns Midnight, and the entire family must embark on a journey with her to find out why an angry father can show no kindness to his only child.
"While you don't see many children's books doing it, I feel it is vital for young readers to be exposed to stories that not only reach out to their joys, love and triumphs but also their heartache and trauma," explains Golden, who passionately works with schoolchildren to ensure their voices are heard and shared. "They need to know that healing is possible, and that it's admirable to reach out for support and accept help extended to them. Society these days pushes people in a corner where they can't speak out about their pain, and it's a toxic epidemic."
Continuing, "The adventure children will share with Midnight is truly life-changing. There's no better way to reach out to the hearts of young children than with an engrossing story. The folklore intertwined within the narrative will be unlike anything they have read before."
Readers agree, leaving a string of positive reviews. Mitch Weiner comments, "Ms. Golden is masterful in telling a mystical tale of a journey of discovery, joy and hope. For those unfamiliar with her work this is a delightful story that will soon make you a fan."
Kurtis S. adds, "The story truly takes the reader on a journey through a magical land, as a family tries to heal what is stopping them from connecting to one another as a unit you feel like you're experiencing the journey alongside the characters. Skillfully told through the eyes of a child, the book is a great read for children at bedtime, and has a great message for adults too."
