AHAUS, Germany, June 03, 2015 /PressReleasePing/ - Germany based Ultrasonic Pain Relief, a start-up company specialized in a proprietary low frequency, low intensity ultrasound technology, announces today that it will start shortly clinical trials at the renowned university of Otago in New Zealand.

The company claims its experimental device cures inflammatory related conditions such as severe tennis elbow or lateral epicondylitis, golfer's elbow, lower back pain, runners knee, or any other inflammation by applying its proprietary ultrasound technology using very densed acoustic pressure.

The 20-40 kHz ultrasound is able to penetrate several centimeters into the tissue (without creating hotspots), oscillates the inflammation and softens the scar tissue. After 12 hours, the effects of the non-invasive treatment kick in and the patient is free of pain.

Musculoskeletal conditions account for the third leading cause of health systems expenditure in e.g. Oceania. Lateral epicondylalgia (tennis elbow) is such a condition and is often treated in primary care. Both the individual and community are affected by this condition: 7 per 1000 patients seeing their medical doctor have this condition. Most are not tennis related. On average 10-30% of sufferers take 12 weeks off work. The condition may last 6-48 months and it tends to become stubborn to treatment and recurs often.

The company is looking for investors in Asia and Oceania to market its device after its clinical trials in Dunedin, New Zealand.
