According to a new study type 2 diabetes patients with perilously low blood sugar levels may be at increased danger for cardiovascular disease.

August 14th, 2013 (http://www.kamagrarx.co) - According to a new study type 2 diabetes patients with perilously low blood sugar levels may be at increased danger for cardiovascular disease. The researchers said less stringent glycemic targets may be deliberated for type 2 diabetic patients at high risk of hypoglycemia (severely low blood sugar).

A dangerously low blood sugar level frequently is classified as a medical emergency. Previous noticeable studies have reported an association between severe hypoglycemia and cardiovascular disease risk, but the association abides controversial.

According to the study the results indicate that severe hypoglycemia is linked with a two-fold increased risk of cardiovascular disease. The researchers said that because of this, preventing serious hypoglycemia in people with type 2 diabetes may be important to preclude cardiovascular disease.

The association between severe hypoglycemia and increased cardiovascular disease risk has previously been explained by patients having one or more other serious illnesses, but this is an improbable explanation, the researchers said.

They said the occurrence of severe illnesses would need to be unrealistically high among patients who evolved severe hypoglycemia, and the association between serious illnesses and cardiovascular disease would have to be highly strong.

The researchers examined the findings of six studies that contained a total of more than 903,000 type 2 diabetes patients. The assessment revealed that 0.6 percent to 5.8 percent of patients evolved severe hypoglycemia during one to five years of follow-up. According to the study, these patients had a 1.56 percent higher risk of developing cardiovascular disease.
