1888 Press Release - Dr. Sid Mirrafati urges surgeons and patients make the Mira Method 30-Minute HyrdoBreast Augmentation procedure the only choice and traditional surgery procedures should be abandoned due to irreversible damage and trauma to the breast.

Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA - Dr. Sid Mirrafati urges all surgeons and patients to use the Mira Method 30-Minute HydroBreast Augmentation procedure for women electing breast enhancement surgery. Having performed more than 3,000 of his signature hydrodissection surgeries, Dr. Mirrafati says that this type of augmentation is the future and that more traditional areola augmentation should completely abandoned due to the irreversible damage and trauma caused to the breast tissue.

"There is no reason why any surgeon should cut into the breast and cut all the breast glands, areola augmentation should be completely stopped in my opinion," says Dr. Sid Mirrafati, creator of the signature Mira Method 30-Minute HydroBreast Augmentation procedure. "When you cut the tissue you damage it for life."

According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), breast augmentation surgery has become the most popular cosmetic procedure, exceeding liposuction, in the past two years with over 330,000 women undergoing the procedure in 2012.

As the known authority, he trains other surgeons in his signature hydrodissection procedure, also covered in Breast Augmentation: Principles and Practice, (http://bit.ly/1ne0yuN) and Dr. Mirrafati says he wants to radically transform conventional surgery, as his technique allows most patients to be in and out in less than 30 minutes.

The traditional areola breast augmentation procedure takes about an hour or two and involves cutting around the areola, cutting the muscle and putting the implant either under the muscle or creating a space on top the muscle, explained Dr. Mirrafati, and all that cutting is what causes the scarring.

"If you grab your armpit on the side, you can feel your muscle edge and I make my skin incision, about a centimeter in length, right underneath the armpit, just long enough to put my finger through," says Dr. Mirrafati. "At that point it's all blunt dissection, which means I don't use my scissors or anything anymore and I actually roll my finger underneath the muscle."

"When you open the valve, the fluid forces the muscle to lift so instead of actually cutting, we lift it with the force of fluid in order to lift up the muscle and on top of that there is the breast tissue sitting and that's what I call hydrodissection with water, with fluid," says Dr. Mirrafati. "The pressure is enough to lift the muscle and tissue gently. This also results in less pain during the recovery process for the patient, because you are lifting and not cutting or pulling or tearing. Anytime you have less bleeding and less bruising than the inflammatory process is less."

"In my surgery, most of my girls breastfeed after because I don't cut into their gland, I dont bully anything or cauterize their breast tissue - I dont even touch the breast tissue. That's a reason that I get so many different kinds of patients from places like Australia, and all over the US," says Dr. Mirrafati.

Dr. Mirrafati first developed his signature Mira Method as a way to create a technique that would allow his patients to be able to safely undergo surgery on Thursday and resume normal activities the following Monday, allowing less damage and trauma to the breasts as well as decreasing the recovery time.

"90% of my patients go back to work in a few days because I don't cut or damage the breast tissue or the muscle, making their recovery period incredibly shorter and also resulting in less severe capsular contraction and rippling because the body's inflammatory process is much less," says Dr. Mirrafati.

Capsular contraction, which he explains as the hardening of breasts after implant surgery, and rippling above the implant, notably occur in about 10-15% of patients after other surgical methods but with hydrodissection, his rate has been less than 1%.

Dr. Sid Mirrafati is a Diplomate of the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery and the founder of Mira Aesthetic Medical Center, a state-of-the-art, fully accredited outpatient surgical facility in Orange County. (www.youngerlook.com)

"For my patients who get elective breast augmentations, this should be a happy occasion and we as cosmetic surgeons owe it to ourselves to truly bring the result that we are capable to do, including learning new procedures that cause less pain, less damage and less harm to the patient, like with the Mira Method 30-Minute HydroBreast Augmentation," says Dr. Mirrafati. "Even though this is a competitive business, I still want the best for the patient, mine or somebody else's. Anybody from anywhere, even if it is right down the street, that wants to come watch, I will not turn them down."
