cuil.com - interesting new search engine. naplesplus is on there, in a weird way.
cuil.com is a brand new search engine from some former google employees...
I noticed some new people finding http://free.naplesplus.us through a search engine called http://cuil.com
Interesting looking search engine. Very pretty - you can see your results in 2 or 3 columns, along with pictures if available.
A lot of junky websites seem to come up for some searches. I was pleased when searching for "naples news" that the Naples Daily News came up first, as it should. A reference to naplesplus came up right on top as well, but then I see something in the second row from "design-your-own-business-logo" dot something. Hm.. didn't seem to fit.
I think cuil could be an occasional alternative to Google or Yahoo or MSN or Ask but it's not quite ready for prime time. Still, it's just been released.
I think when they improve their relevence - one of the hardest things to program I imagine, it will become a more and more useful service. Remember when Google gave strange results way back when there was still an altavista and other services that we no longer remember?

Unfortunately, I've had to ban the "twiceler" bot as it was not recognizing my robots.txt file to "slow down the crawl". With limited bandwidth, many servers can't simply handle the huge amount of seaching that robots like Cuil's twiceler does.
Google does it right, allowing you to customize the search rate. Yahoo, Ask and MSN also behave badly.
Hopefully, I get an invitation from cuil to test out their customizable search rate. Until then, naplesplus will only be on cuil in a vague sort of way.
Let me know, cuil, when you let us webmasters slow down your robots crawl rate --Ken
