When designing niche sites, your only 3 objectives to know/do are:

a) how competitive is it. IE: If you type 2 or 3 keywords into google of your niche, and you see 80 million other pages, then ranking on first page for that niche is highly unlikely. Ofcourse it's possible, but that would imply for you get into SEO learning 24/7. Ofcourse we don't have time for that right!

b) Decide what keyword phrase you want to rank high for. What I mean by this is: What would uncle Sam have to type into Google so that your site is seen on first page? Let's suppose your niche site is about "how to teach parrots to talk".

A bad move is to attempt to optimize your site for keyword phrase "parrots". That's too general. You want to go more specific.

Like: "parrot talk training", "teach parrot to talk", "parrot talk training".

As you can see, the best tactic is to choose a keyword phrase with 3-4 keywords in them.

c) Think: "Do the people in my niche actually have money to spend?". You don't want to create a niche on "how to get out of debt". Because those people don't have money to pay for your eBook/product, since they're in debt already. Get it! smiley

==== Here's some tips for SEO if you're impatient to research about it:

1) The big 3 are Google, Yahoo, MSN (but Google should be #1 priority).

2) Google has something called Sandbox. All new sites go in there. And no matter what you do, your site will remain at rock bottom for at least 3-4 months. But there's ways around this. Will say.

3) Google will treat your domain as junk and will immensely decrease your chances of ranking high if you register your domain for 1 year. Because all spammers reg for 1 year. So reg for over 1 year.

4) Including the keywords of your niche in the website, will increase chance of getting higher on SE. Especially on Yahoo & MSN.

5) A domain that starts with a number (eg: 1computerstore.com) will always outpul (ranking based) a site that starts with a letter (eg. computerstore.com ). So attempt to make a domain start with number. If can't, then make it close to a, b, c, d. If still can't, then no worries. There's ways around it.

6) The best strategy for SEO is to choose a 3-4 keyword phrase that matches your niche, and load your website with that phrase, while still making the content make sense.

7) SE's (especially google), love daily changing content on your site. That's why you should use RSS feeds. Here's a free one: http://rssfeedreader.com/. Your mission is to find a feed that's daily updated and it's content is related to your niche, and include that feed on bottom of your site. Put no more then 5 feeds, with no more then 150 characters of the article. Else you'll dilute your on-page keywords, and that'll kill any SEO efforts.

8 ) If you notice any sites that know about SEO, you'll notice that they attempt to include the 3-4 keyword phrase on the page as the first thing as possible. IE: Include that before any other content.

9) The first 250 words on your site are the MOST important. Make sure to infiltrate the first 250 with keywords related to your niche. And repeat the primary keywords multiple times, while still making sense.

9) Anything that's your put between tags, gives you extra points for that phrase being ranked high for. Same applies to . So put your keyword phrase between these tags. But don't do to all, else SE's will instantly see that as attempt of spam.

10) Keep your META description tag below 30 words. And make certain they contain your niches keywords at least 5 times.

11) You can get indexed by Google and have your site appear in their index within 3 days or less by placing your sites link on a PR5-8 site.

12) You want to get your sites link on as many PR4+ sites as possible, without you having their link on your site. Because now SE's discard if you do 2 link exchange. Instead you want to do 3 way linking. You place your primary sites link on their high PR site. And you place their sites link on another site that you have/should have that's related to same niche as your primary site. Get it!

13) #12 is your main focus. But this point will tell you that as a general rule, get your sites link on as many sites as possible. Link on another site is better then no link at all. See: www.linkmetro.com for link exchange sharing.

14) Create a sitemap of your site with http://www.xml-sitemaps.com/, then upload urllist.txt and sitemap.xml to your sites root. Then subscribe and validate your site through Google Webmasters ( http://www.google.com/webmasters)... and Yahoo Siteexplorer (https://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/my... Then tell them the location of your sites sitemap. For Google, use sitemap.xml. For Yahoo, use urllist.txt.

14) Create a article directory on your site. Or basically get about 15 keyword rich articles (keywords related to your niche ofcourse) from www.ezinearticles.com. And include them on your site as subpages. Eg: site.com/parrot_talking.htm, site.com/teach_parrots.htm , etc... Also notice that you should make your links of the articles contain the keywords of your niche.

15) Having your sites link on 1 PR8 site, will be more beneficial in eyes of SE's for your site, then having it on 300 PR3 sites.

16) DO NOT submit your site to search engines manually. Let them pick you up through other sites.

16) Go to www.addme.com and submit your site to all those search engines. But tick OFF, Google, Yahoo and MSN.

16) When creating a sales site for purpose of selling a product, stick to the proven formula AIDA. Attention (Get their attention with a catchy headline), Interest (Get them interested by describing their current problem they have in their lifes & illustrate how this product can help them solve it), Desire (further build their desire for your product by giving testimonials, illustrations of before-after results, bonuses, low-price), and Action (tell them to ACT NOW, pick up the phone and order now, pull out their CC and pay now, now, now, now!!! Be authorotive.)

17) Include a Privacy Policy/Terms of Service on your site. SE's now actually look for this. And give you extra credit in terms of ranking higher if you have it. Because they assume the site is more serious and not spammy, since spammy sites never have TOS/AUP.

18) will carry on from here...
