As ROSA (Reproductive rights, against Oppression, Sexism, and Austerity) drove its abortion bus in Ireland, a region where pregnancy termination are illegal, the effort by the activist were met by great welcome by pro-choice people, and staunch protests from pro-lifers.

November 25, 2015 As ROSA (Reproductive rights, against Oppression, Sexism, and Austerity) drove its abortion bus in Ireland, a region where pregnancy termination are illegal, the effort by the activist were met by great welcome by pro-choice people, and staunch protests from pro-lifers. But, Sarah (name changed), an Irish citizen had a different story to share about her ordeal of unwanted pregnancy, and the help meted out by the ROSA members who provided her Mifepristone tablets for a safe and successful pregnancy ending. Sarah has a four year old girl, and in a new relationship with levy of a mortgage. She is a 31-year old woman who is not ready to bring a child into the world right now, and had used contraception on intercourse, which failed to protect from an unwanted pregnancy. Being a resident of Limerick, where abortion are illegal, she had only an option open that is to travel to UK and spend a hefty fee on travel and the pregnancy termination procedure itself to get out of the sticky situation, all the time staying alone in the hotel until she was back on feet. Thankfully, the ROSA activist in her town generated a positive hope in her, and she approached them for Misoprostol tablets in time. The bus tour was initiated with the motive to spread more awareness about pregnancy termination, and the FDA approved medicines efficacy in doing so, along with consultation and free distribution of tablets for needy women in Ireland, where reproductive rights are restrictive. The vehicle journeyed through Galway, Limerick, Dublin, and Cork, where women have no freedom to order abortion pill, even if their life is at risk due to fetal formation, or the pregnancy is forced resulted from sexual violence. No one can forget death of Indian born dentist, Savita Halappanavar when she succumbed to septicemia when refused of pregnancy termination. The Irish law recognizes the life of the unborn child similar to the woman, thus making pregnancy termination a criminal activity. Not every citizen from the region can afford travel expenses to UK to http://www.leonpharmacy.com/cytotec.html for evicting fetus, or spend on surgery for the same. Especially those with visa issues are rendered completely helpless in this scenario. Sarah did not want to go through the procedure without doctor’s observation. However, she has no other option to depend on than taking Cytotec pills at home, where at least her friends would be around to help. She is however sure that her parents would not support the decision as they are quite religious. Also, she thinks that Ireland is heavily influenced by the Church despite of gay marriages being now legalized in the country. By the limited laws for reproductive health, she feels that no one understands why a woman actually needs to seeks pregnancy termination at all. She has had a miscarriage before and knows what to expect. Obviously it is not a happy and smooth experience. But if people in Ireland are allowed to http://www.leonpharmacy.com/abortion-pill.html, it could save a great number of lives, especially of women dealing with complicated pregnancy. Sarah believes that religion has an upper hand than humanity in the region and those with religious differences are often looked down upon in daily life. The bus driven by ROSA activist also had an Irish citizen who is a member of the parliament. The person is now risking a 14 years imprisonment by his action of supporting illegal efforts. Several other females like Sarah approached the bus and sought consultation, medicines and advice for pregnancy termination. Most of them were in helpless situation with no legal access to MTP Kit. Once they were equipped with the medicines, they had a relief pass over. Until now, the activists have not been persecuted for their efforts, but the future promises for Irish women needing help in managing unwanted pregnancies is still obscure.
