Stay away from LOOKSMART - it WILL lower your Google Pankrank and listing!
Just one week ago, I signed up my Collier County Business Directory Collier County News and Collier County Information website into Looksmart.
I paid for an ad.
Seemed cheap enough.
In fact, it generated a number of hits.... ...from websites like PYYYPYP.INFO and weird places like that. I ended up on a bunch of those automated pages, almost instantly.
Within a week, all of the sudden, a whole SLEW of my pages seemed to fall WAY down on the list on Google. I didn't have a pankrank yet (still don't - my website is only three+ months old) - and it's the only thing I can attribute it to.
So run far away from LOOKSMART. They must be on their last legs and getting the e.d. sites. Democracy my foot.
I just hope that http://free.naplesplus.us recovers from this! I want people to be able to find their business websites I made for them on it. It's not a profit enterprise - just a service to the community (with a blurb at the bottom mentioning my brother's animal trapping business).
