Inexpensive Tomato Juice
Dear Readers: We all know TOMATOES are good for us, and one way to be sure to have our daily dose is to drink a glass of tomato juice! But you don't need to purchase expensive, store-bought juice.
Try making your own. Mix 1 part tomato paste with 3 parts cold water (adjust to your taste), then blend in a blender until it's smooth and creamy. You can add salt and pepper, other vegetables, salsa or whatever strikes your fancy. It is cheap to make, but it's rich in flavor. And if you have a little tomato paste left over, add a little horseradish and lemon, and you'll have a quick cocktail sauce. -- Heloise
Note from sysop/webmaster: Want to get the magical benefits of RAW GARLIC? (they are better than viagra, the N oxide that comes from raw garlic cleans out your bloodstream, is a bit of a blood thinner and relaxes your blood vessels)... anyhow:
Get two cloves of fresh garlic (not bottled) and chop it up in your blender, just like you would ice. Pulse, pulse pulse a bunch of times.
Then do the tomato juice -- 1 part tomato paste, 3 parts water (or 4 parts water). You will probably need a little more salt in there than you expect for flavor -- but if you do the garlic cloves you might not need much salt at all!
Chug it down! You'll be getting more vitamin c than orange juice, get the lycopene in, and the raw garlic with the allicin that is produced when garlic is broken apart... and wow, you've got one heck of a zinger. Better than a v8!
