20 artists from varying mediums will be present at the 14th Annual Wildlife and Wildlands Art Show at Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park, including resident artist, wildlife photographer Erv Krause.

Jan. 14 2012

The 14th annual Wildlife and Wildlands Art Show will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2012. The show will be located in area three of Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park in north Collier County and will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for locals and vacationers to enjoy.

The art show will feature 20 artists -- painters in oils and watercolors, photographers, and artists who use natural materials. Attendees will be able to meet the artists as they walk through the maritime hammock picnic area along the beach. This event showcases the natural and cultural resources of Florida through artistic expression.

The Friends of Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park are presenting the annual art show and are extremely thankful to Erv Krause, 2011 resident artist. Artists like Krause capture the beauty of the park and preserve it for the generations to come.

Krause is a wildlife photographer and his fascination with nature and its secrets has been with him his entire life. He earned his Masters at the University of Illinois and embarked upon a teaching career that lasted 32 years. In his twenties, Krause began exploring nature with his camera and now has an ever expanding portfolio of wildlife images.

Painter William North was the first resident artist in 2007. Sadly, Mr. North passed away in October of this year but his legacy continues as each year a new resident artist is named. North’s favorite subjects were landscapes and seascapes painted in oils with an impressionistic style. He often recorded scenes not only from Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park, but also Sanibel and Captiva Islands, and other historical landmarks in Southwest Florida.

The Friends of Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park is funded solely by public contributions and does not receive federal grants. Your support as a partner in any event helps to ensure proceeds raised go to positive upgrades and improvements to Collier County’s treasured beachfront park.

Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park is located at 11135 Gulf Shore Drive in Naples. For more information about becoming a Friend of Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park, please visit www.DelnorWiggins.org or contact Jo Ann at (239) 398-7687.
