The damaged thyroid gland steadily become less active and fails to create necessary amount of hormones and chemicals causing chemical imbalance in the body. This condition directs to inflammation of the thyroid gland which is also known as Chronic Lymphocytic Thyroiditis.

It is a chronic disease and is distinguished by symptoms which are recognizable once the condition leads to hypothyroidism. The destruction to the thyroid gland is done over many years and it leads to reduced level of thyroid secreted hormones in the blood (hormones deficiency).
