Vitamin D intake and Kidney stones are no correlated and one can fearlessly consume Vitamin D supplementation.
29th October,2013 (http://www.carepharmacyrx.com/) : Suspect you will have Kidney stones after consuming Vitamin D supplementation? The new research has nullified your anxiety. Vitamin D intake and Kidney stones are no correlated and one can fearlessly consume Vitamin D supplementation. Has your worry just vanished?
The study included 2000 adult participants belonging to a wide age range. The new study used data on more than 2,000 adults of all ages. Their daily routines and daily intake of vitamin D were carefully observed for 19 months. Out of them, only 13 participants were diagnosed with kidney stone during that time.
The researchers concluded that taking Vitamin D supplements does not increase the risk for kidney stones. In fact, other factors like age, gender and weight may play an important role in determining the risk of acquiring this disorder- as the researchers have said. Elder people and persons having higher than prescribed BMI are more prone to developing Kidney stones. Men are more affected by this disorder than women.
Earlier researchers have showed that Vitamin D is good for body. It can help prevent onset of many cancers including breast and colorectal cancer and gives protection against many infectious diseases. The evidence suggested that 40 to 50 nanograms per milliliter level of Vitamin D serum is needed to achieve this protective effect. It may not be achieved from daily diet and thus supplementation is required to fulfill the nutritional need of the body. People with higher BMI need more Vitamin D supplementation to get its health benefits. Researchers expressed hope that their findings would help lessen the concerns about Vitamin D supplementation.
So if you fear developing kidney stone, reduce your vulnerability to risk factors. Age and gender related factors cannot be controlled but you can put a check on your BMI- exercise regularly, avoid bad cholesterol and yes, take Vitamin d supplementation!
