A research suggested that testosterone level in older men was much lower than what the screening revealed, and such males could benefit from taking additional doses of this hormone.

This study was conducted by researchers of Center for Men’s Health and University College Hospital situated in London and Australia’s Edith Cowan University. These clinics offer treatment for impotence, prostate health and male menopause.
The findings of the study was contemplated on by many scholars and said to be dicey. Particularly, Frederick Wu, a professor from Manchester University was not in favor of the research results, saying it could be potential dangerous and misleading. Though the study represented symptom relief for the participants, it could not prove the real cause and effect of the scenario. Review was based on 2,693 men and their medical notes.
These men had attended the private Men’s Health clinic from the 1989 year. They reported of morning erections loss, night sweats, depression, impaired memory, impotence, joint pains, irritability, low libido and energy continually for three to five years. Some had taken Sildenafil Citrate 100mg to manage impotence and get erections during intercourse, but other symptoms did prevail. The men were assumed to have low testosterone level, but a diagnosis was not done.
Those who agreed with the trial were given oral testosterone, pellet implants, scrotal gel and testosterone scrotal cream. The Andropause symptom checklist evaluated the alteration in signs of discomfort during the treatment. It consisted of 20 questions for deriving the score between ranges of 0 to 80. Less than 10 score was said to be normal for the target of experiment. The men with average age of 54 fell in score range of 24 to 90.
After one to two years of the trial, the participants were called for re-evaluation. The experiment treatment lasted from 3 years to 12 as per the testosterone delivery method. Those with symptom scale of less than 10 score or on range of 0 to 80 were said to have better sexual health and response to testosterone therapies. Some reported an increase of polycythaemia (red blood cells), side effect to this therapy. They had blood taken away on regular interval to reduce this effect.
However, the results of the study are still dubious due to loopholes. But, it did provide an insight to possible treatment of so termed ‘male menopause’ with testosterone therapy. While most men can undertake weight management, nutritious diet, and exercise, less alcohol consumption and quit smoking for similar effects, many could utilize oral medications like Generic Viagra 100mg for receiving erections on intimacy.
