Past week, Affordable Trapping has gotten a lot of calls for these hole-makers.

Past few days, we've been getting a lot of calls for armadillos.

It's funny how animals seem to have seasons with the weather.

All of the heavy rains have been driving the armadillos to find nice nesting places for the onslaught of food (grubs, bugs, etc), and they LOVE tunneling by your foundation, in your bushes, etc.

Who do I call for Armadillos in Naples?

Call Ken (me) at 239-465-9291 via Affordable Trapping if you're in the Naples / Marco / Bonita area.

How do you know if you have an armadillo?

You'll see a hole about 6 inches wide with a pile of dirt around it.

Where will the armadillo hole be?

You'll find the armadillo hole near your foundation. Check around the outside of your foundation and look for a hole about six inches wide with a pile of dirt around it.

You will also find them in your hedges, in the mulch.

Some brazen critter will dig holes right in your yard.

Can I use moth balls against armadillos?

No. It doesn't work. Neither does cayenne pepper, pepper sauce, ammonia, vinegar or borax.

What is the best bait to catch an armadillo?

To date, we know of no effective bait for armadillos.

Yes, to those who have asked (maybe once a year) - there ARE ways to cook Armadillo apparently. I do not recommend it, nor would I ever do it. But an old friend from up North found this for me after posting this to naplesplus, and I have to share it for the odd-of-mind...
