Boy's/Kid's cardboard cutout unintentionally slows down traffic. Law enforcement is recommending it! But it may result in unintentional deaths.

An Ohio man is using cardboard cutouts of his children to slow down motorists. The idea is not new where cardboard cutouts of policeman has been used before. Frustrated by motorists unwillingness to slow down, he puts up these life size cutouts in his yard.
His idea has been posted on some law enforcement web sites around the country and he is selling the signs for $60 now.
COMMENTARY: Hard to believe law enforcement is recommending this but apparently it works to slow down traffic.
Of course, the backlash, if this gets popular, is that people will be hardened to the idea after a while, and will start intentionally hitting the cardboard cutouts with their cars...
until some real kid gets hit.
Then this father from Ohio will find himself sued.

You can fool people only for so long before there is a backlash.
But for now, it's probably not a bad idea!
Other potential problems:
Your kids' images advertised for the world to see. Your kid will be the most recognizable person on your street - but also may fuel problems with sickos.
Still, I think that eventually people (especially teenagers as teens do what they do no matter what neighborhood it is) will start throwing rocks at the cardboard cutouts, shooting bb's at it, hitting it with a baseball bat.
And one day, the real kid will be standing there.
Big oops, and that's what you get for trying to fool people. I hope it helps your traffic problem, but be careful how you use your kids. It can backfire.
But I'm just being a wet-blanket alarmist! Perhaps none of those things will ever happen

Blow the kid up. (not with dynamite but photographically)
Get a big piece of cardboard.
Paste your kids' image on it using whatever waterproof photosafe glue you can find.
Cover with some kind of water proof sealant, both the front back and sides of the picture.
Stick a wooden kickstand out the rear of the cardboard cutout, hanging down below the kid's feet.
Shove it in the ground in front of your house.
See what happens.
You can probably print out the picture of this Ohio kid at the side of the road and bring it to your local print shop and say, "I wanna do this to my kid".
And they can help you find a photographer and the like.
Don't know if Walmart would do it though.
