Leadership

April 4, 2011

"A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgement unto truth. He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law." Isaiah 42:3,4 Here we see leadership perfection in the two characteristics that Jesus entered into our world with. He came as the Soft Man full of meekness. humble, gentle, mild, and submissive. He never raised his voice announcing that he was in charge and he was full of compassion towards all those that were hurting and in need, never crushing the fallen, but always lifting them back to their feet. Jesus embraces with kindness and understanding those that are hurt. Next we see that he came as a Lead Man able to do according to all that God commissioned him to do, not making excuses, and taking authority with confidence in his ability to perform his mission, to seek and to save the lost. Jesus didn't push himself onto the scene and demand that all listen to him and follow, he didn't announce his calling and market his position as God's only begotten son and begin lording over people, instead God announced him, "Behold this is my servant in whom I have chosen:" Mathew 12:18 Jesus took charge without forcing people to follow. He simply came and shared God's word and allowed God to do the rest. And God's word did the work. Jesus our perfect example of leadership is meek and powerful!

Are you a leader? Lead with humility, compassion, and power!

Stayin Alive!

01:31 pm ~ Commandments

"But ye that did cleave unto the Lord your God are alive everyone of you this day. Behold, I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as the Lord my God commanded me, that ye should do so in the land whither ye go to possess it. Keep therefore and do them;" Deuteronomy 4:4-6a

Moses isn't exactly the brother of Barry Gibb and Barry isn't exactly singing about Stayin Alive for God either. The hit song from the Bee Gees called "Stayin Alive" is not talking about your soul and how to live for God. It has so many other ungodly things to say. Moses is truly concerned as a leader of his people and is instructing them in the way to remain alive in harsh times. He is urging obedience to God in the midst of a desert journey that was grueling, painful, laborious, and physically and mentally pressing with daily exertion upon all on this journey. Moses had his hands full! He wasn't singing this hit song Stayin Alive! He was singing, "Ah,ha,ha,ha, Help us God!" And God did help them, all the way through! Moses was told to tell them to cleave unto the Lord and to keep his commandments each day. How will we make it? How will we survive? Staying Alive is through staying close to God! Cleave to him, keep his word near, even in your heart, study, pray, and share all things about Jesus and at the end of this seemingly darkened tunnel or time in your life, there is Jesus with open arms! At the end of the day you can break out into praise because your closeness to God has kept you alive through it all! Jesus is the way and by remaining close to him we will be able to sing a new song, Stayin Alive through Jesus Christ! Break out into Praise for Jesus and the wisdom that he gives us!

"For what nation is there so great, who hath God so nigh to them, as the Lord our God is in all things that we call upon him for?" Deuteronomy 4:7 At the end of the day you will see that you have survived and all will say about Jesus, "For what nation is there so great" because he has kept you alive through it all!

The Perfect Strategy!

10:02 am ~ Planning

www.souls-for-christ.com

May 9, 2011

"Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time." 1Peter 1:5

For such a time as this! By the power of God many people and things have been placed in reserve for the appointed time. God is able and His wisdom in formulating the strategy for the end times is evident in this. Of course, God has many resourses and many people who serve, but he uses this wisely. No need to pour out, reveal, or place on active duty every resourse exposing all and potentially expending all before it is time. You might be praying for things to happen or just wondering why they are not happening yet, herein lies the reason. God is a perfect strategist, orchestrating everything as a Master planner should. It is no less great to be used in the latter days than it was in the beginning. God reserves for the appointed time, "...Let us now fear the Lord our God, that giveth rain, both the former and the latter, in His season: He reserves unto us the appointed weeks of the harvest." Ready to be revealed in the last time or as some might say ,"He saves the best for last" just as it was said to Jesus at the first miracle in the making of wine at the wedding of Cana of Galilee, "And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now." John 2:10

Haven't found a place to serve yet? Still waiting to be used? Wondering when that prayer will be answered? Just remember that God has His appointed time and some things are held back for His great purposes! He has been known to save the best for last! He is never late though, and his power is able to keep us unto that appointed time!

Give Jesus Tribute!

05:29 am ~ Tribute

www.souls-for-christ.com

May 4, 2011

"And he saw that rest was good, and the land that it was pleasant; and bowed his shoulder to bear, and became a servant unto tribute." Genesis 49:15

Jacob's feeling pretty good now, he's ready to give his blessings to all his sons, so he begins to describe a little about each one and arrives at his son Issachar and makes this desciption, "Issachar is a strong ass couching down between two burdens..." Genesis 49:14 Issachar, Jacobs fifth son, was a hard worker. He never ran from work. He became a force behind hard work in industry and worship to God. The two burdens that he bowed his shoulder to bear. He was a servant and offered to God a tribute, the sum paid by one servant to the Master Servant. Jesus, the Master Servant, became a servant and served us so that we could also learn by his example how to serve. When Jesus began to wash the Disciples feet in John chapter 13:5, "After that he poureth water into a basin, and began to wash the Disciples feet, and to wipe them with towel wherewith he was girded." we was given an example of service to follow. Jesus was our servant and served God in all things so that he would bring glory unto the Father. He obeyed even unto death! What is it that we should follow the example of Issachar and Jesus and become a servant unto tribute? This is at least our reasonable service as we are instructed already by God to render unto Caesar what is Caesar's and unto God what is God's. Mathew 22:21

It is a small thing and our reasonable service unto God to render unto Him and pay tribute to Him by serving Him with our life. Every year we pay taxes and render unto Caesar what we owe him, so why not render unto God? Pay Him tribute and bow your shoulder to bear the cross and the purpose that he has called you unto, render unto God what is God's.

The Audacity of Hope!

11:39 am ~ Hope

www.souls-for-christ.com

April 28, 2011

"For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it." Romans 8:24, 25

An invisible rope? A rope that is cast towards you as life gets more difficult, a rope that will escort you to safety in a time that you cry out to be saved, why do we cry out and what do we cry for? This invisible rope called hope? An unseen desire that we can trust in, we place our confidence in, and we can hope even though it can't be seen. Why the audacity of hope? How dare anyone hope in something good! Hope is bold, hope is fearless, and hope is daring. Do you dare to believe that you can be saved? Not just saved, but saved by a hope that is invisible? Do you dare to believe that you can have what God has said you can have? Do you dare to catch this rope and allow it to be used in your life and then cast it out again to others? Love is increasingly becoming invisible too, but if this happens it is joining the ranks of faith and hope. "Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not yet seen." Hebrews 11:1 and hope is the confidence that we have in an unseen desire. So no matter if love seems to be invisible, it will always be here with us, and easily found amongst the ranks of faith and hope. Invisible ropes, yet lifesaving and powerful allies to us!

"And now abideth faith, hope, and love." 1Corinthians 13:13a Hope remains and is here now, will you dare to be bold enough to catch this rope called hope and allow it to pull you to safety? Will you cast this rope to another that needs to be saved? Give someone hope today!

The Strait Gate!

03:00 pm ~ Easter

Happy Easter! Jesus is Alive!

April 24, 2011

"Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them, Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able." Luke 13:23,24

This is a good question, "are there few that be saved?" While we do not know exactly who will be saved and who will not, we can have some idea of what the requirements are. Strive to enter in at the strait gate is our clue, What is the strait gate? There are three things that we find when we search this out. First, at the strait gate there is no judgement. Mathew 7:3 reads,"And why beholdest the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is thine own eye?" Judgement is gone as you enter in at the strait gate. Second, at the strait gate there is love, John 13:34 reads, "A new commandment I give unto you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another." As we are walking through the strait gate we help each other through. Finally, at the strait gate there is faith in Jesus, Hebrews 11:6 reads, "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." Strive to enter in without judgement, full of love, and full of faith in God! This gate is strait and narrow, but this is how we must approach the entrance if we expect to get in.

Today in history, Jesus ascended from the grave and is alive! He lives! Forever he lives to show us the way to live with him. Moses struck the rock in Numbers 20 so that the people would live and have water to drink while in the desert, but Jesus poured out his blood and water while on the cross in John 19:34 so that we may live for eternity in heaven with Him. Go to the cross today and receive eternal life then strive to enter in!

God's Got Your Back!

11:59 am ~ Protection

April 21, 2011

"For behold, I have made thee this day a defensed city, and an iron pillar, and brazen walls against the whole land, against the kings of Judah, against the princes thereof, against the priests thereof, and against the people of the land." Jeremiah 1:18

You are guarded against all danger! God is so detailed, not overlooking any possibility, not leaving any cracks in your defense, and absolutely complete in his work. Unfailing, he presents you unto the world as a city that is completely prepared and guarded, so much so, that wherever you stand or walk nothing can harm you! He has appointed you since birth. You are his Ambassador and because you have set your love on him, and he has appointed you a representative to the land, he is aware of the enemy and has taken all appropriate counter measures to guarantee your safety. He will accomplish his desires in your life! He will be your help not the things of this world. "For the Lord God will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed." Isaiah 50:7 Even when it seems that all odds are against you and there is no one there to encourage you in your work Jesus has prepared for this and will defend you! Because he has appointed you he will establish you and the purpose that her has called you to.

God's defenses fail not! He is perfect and doesn't need approval from anyone. He has appointed you and ordained you from birth to fulfill his purposes. You are created unto good works and the enemy will not prevail against you, because you are protected from all of the enemy's schemes.

Onward Christian Soldiers!

10:16 am ~ Forward

April 20, 2011

"And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, and to virtue knowledge; and to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; and to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity" 2Peter 1:5-7

Step by step, line upon line, and precept upon precept we are to add to our lives a constant working or building towards the knowledge of Jesus Christ. Faith in Jesus is the foundation and the only way to build, but it is only the foundation, we can't lay the foundation and not continue to build thereon. Who starts to build without the intent of completing? Who lays a foundation to a house or building and walks away after the foundation is layed? or Who stands on a ladder at the first step desiring to make it to the top, but fails to take the next step? General Math or Math 101 begins with addition and this will always be a part of a progressive person's life. Receive Jesus, believe in him, but then add to your faith in Jesus. "For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ." 2Peter 2:8 Steady application and steadfast perseverence will enable us to see the continual advancements of Christ's workings in our life.

Friends, continue to add, continue to go forward, and continue to stand firm in your faith in Jesus. His work in your life will reveal that great purpose and fruit that you have been created for.

Grounded no more!

10:01 am ~ Chastening

April 15, 2011

"And in that day thou shalt say, O Lord, I will praise thee: though thou wast angry with me, thine anger is turned away, and thou comfortest me." Isaiah 12:1

How many know it's hard to stay angry with your children? They do wrong and it seems that they will never understand or that they won't see what your talking about until they have their own children, but we always say, "wait until they have kids of their own!" Do you know that one day they will look back and remember all the relieved emotions that they had when you finally stopped being mad at them! This is cause for a celebration! I can remember being grounded as a young boy and wanting so badly to go outside and play or to be able to go and be with my friends, but no! my parents were still angry! and would insist that I learn my lesson! O' the day that grounding was over! This is how it is with the Lord, we mess up, we get punished, God is mad at us, and then finally his anger turns and it's time to celebrate! Praise Jesus he is so good!!! Jesus only wants what is best for us and as a loving parent he must chasten us from time to time. "For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth." Hebrews 11:6

"Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grevious, nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them that are exercised thereby." Hebrews 12:11 Jesus is happy to turn his anger away from us and comfort us again! Praise Jesus we are no longer grounded!!!
