Like A Flint!

09:50 am ~ Stand

"For the Lord God will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know I shall not be ashamed." Isaiah 50:7

The scrolling banner reads, "I HAVE SET MY FACE LIKE A FLINT!" Can you say this? There will be times in your life that you will have to take a stand and stand therefore having put on the whole armor of God. Unfortunately, there are some powers out there that would love to see you fail, this is a fact, and the old phrases "buck up" or "take the bull by the horn" is required. The reaching down inside for a bit more stubbornness and refusal to quit is necessary. "I shall NOT be moved" is the bulk message that needs to be sent and God is with you! Just like a tree planted by the waters, I shall not be moved. What a horrible message for our adversary! Just when it seemed that he might be prevailing, we come back with a powerful punch! God is powerful! Take heart, a new thing is coming to you as we speak. God is at work and reenforcements have been dispatched into this fight. Stand firm and let God take the wheel! The shame shall be redirected and this egg shall be on your adversary's face. Remember the stone in which the builders have rejected? This stone has become the chief cornerstone, Jesus is this stone that has been rejected so many times! "And he beheld them, and said, What is this then that is written, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner? Whosoever shall fall upon that stone shall be broken; but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder." Luke 20:17,18

God is on your side, he has seen your struggles and pains. Stand strong because he will not allow you to be put to shame! Today, put your enemies on official notice by saying. I HAVE SET MY FACE LIKE A FLINT AND I SHALL NOT BE MOVED! Let God help you today by letting go and giving the battle to him.

The Proven Formula!

08:01 am ~ Praise

"Let the people praise thee, O God, let all the people praise thee. Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us." Psalm 67:5,6

Let's suppose you have recently placed your children on some type of punishment for breaking the rules or not doing their chores. How long do you think that you could withhold good things from your son(s) or daughter(s) if during their punishment, they continually begin to compliment you and honor you and express their sincere admiration for how well you train them and instruct them in the ways of righteousness? What if they came to you every morning and told you how great you really are and how much they appreciate all that you do for them? What! Really this could happen! Cmon! Ok, so what if it did happen this way? If you were given a bonus in your pay at work would you plan a special event for them because they have made you proud, or if you had some extra time in the day would you make plans to spend it with them blessing them with your love? Yes, of course! The point here is, there is a proven formula that will move God to bless us. If we follow the example that are children have set for us in this scenario, then we will also be blessed by God and share in the earth's increase as we show our appreciation for Him and as we praise Him for His goodness to us!

Cause and Effect is something that Thomas Aquinas mentioned in his Christian Classic, "Summa Theologica", but it is really so simple, if we cause our hearts and voices to appreciate God through praise, the effect will be that we will be blessed and our land will yield it's increase, but if we complain and withhold praise from God then we will receive nothing! Give praise to God today!

Trust in the Lord!

09:51 am ~ Faith

Pressing forward!

April 26, 2011

"Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit." Jeremiah 17:7,8

When everything hits the fan, when crisis has come knocking at your door, when the level is at critical mass, and when it comes time to implement your last resort plan, are you steady or will you panic in the face of destruction? There are some who will panic and react in haste while others under the same duress will be the "smooth operator". What's the difference? Both are experiencing trauma and are compelled to take action, but each one has a different reaction. The one who reacts in haste, pressed by fear, and flustered or agitated by the unknown will see destruction and will certainly aid in the speed of the process, but the one that trusts in God and whose hope the Lord is, will not be moved! Fear and panic do not come near to his dwelling and his heart remains steadfast, he will continue to produce good works, keeping his eyes on the power that will deliver him! Jesus will not tarry in these times. He will rise up and give the command, he will send his word that calms the winds that trouble you. Fear Not! But, you say?

"But I am poor and needy: make haste unto me, O God: thou art my help and my deliverer; O Lord, make no tarrying." Psalm 70:5 Jesus knows what time it is, and he will respond to your crisis, trust in him, he will not tarry! Press forward in your faith in God.
